The Innovations Forum of the Economic Forum was organized for the first time as an accompanying event of the Economic Forum in 2010. Intention of the organizers was to start an initiative, which gathers selected entrepreneurs from Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, representatives of government and parliaments, who are responsible for implementing and promoting development of technology and innovations in Central Europe. This meeting, on the one hand, represents an attempt to summarize previous actions aimed at management of innovation process in global dimension and, on the other hand, demonstrates chances for development and activity of individual regions, companies and organizational units within the scope of introducing innovations and fostering economic growth.
II Innovations Forum was held on 24 and 25 May in the Carpathian Philharmonic. Visitors came from China, Switzerland, Holland, Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, Sweden and Israel. Attended by over 200 leaders in business, science and politics, who discussed the potential to increase the innovativeness of Polish economy and the use of our ideas by major companies worldwide.
During the Second Forum of Innovation were seven panels. The question of future energy, aviation and automotive industries. The discussion was attended by Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Professor Sun Fengchun Vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology, director of the National Electric Vehicle Engineering Laboratory, Professor Antoni Szumanowski - Warsaw University of Technology, Prof. dr hab. inż. Andrzej Sobkowiak, Rector of the University of Rzeszow, Prof. dr hab. inż. Leszek Woźniak - University of Technology, Lena Ekelund - Chalmers University of Technology, Volvo Cars, dr Alicja Adamczak, President of the Patent Office, and representatives of Polish companies: Adam Góral of Asseco Poland, Stanisław Sroka with Transsystemu, Marta Półtorak from Marma Polskie Folie, Sieńko with IBM Poland, Dariusz Stolarczyk from Tauron Polska Energia SA.
An added attraction this year's Forum was the town of Innovation, in which the latest technologies showcased several telecommunications companies and energy. Construction Innovations town was to show the possibilities offered by cooperation of entrepreneurs in the sectors of information, energy and telecommunications with the local government units. All this was to foster the development of innovative solutions based on modern technologies. A special attraction for visitors to the town truck was prepared by a Chinese company Huawei or Urbantrain - 18 meter electric vehicle, which brought the company together with his Transsystem Swiss partner, Swiss Road Trains.
During the dinner, which was crowned by the end of the first day of the Forum took place awards Business Innovation Award. Award winners were companies: Asseco Poland SA and Software Mind SA. Business Innovation Award for Asseco Poland SA was awarded for the implementation of the "proprietary software" that is developing small and medium enterprises in Poland. The award was received by Vice Board of Asseco Poland SA Marek Panek, while the award for Business Innovation Award for Software Mind SA allocated for the implementation of innovative projects on the international market. The award was accepted President Janusz Homa.
