Beyond Diversity - Conflicts created on the basis of different cultural backgrounds in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises
This project has been funded with support from the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme.
The main aim of the project is providing beneficiaries (mostly company managers of SME sector) with effective tools dedicated to positive management of conflicts based on cultural differences in SME sector companies. The project’s aim is also to enable, as well as facilitate further development of both knowledge and skills concerning positive management of conflicts, including experience sharing between interested parties. That is why an e-learning platform will be created, enabling in turn to share training materials, tools, as well as to stimulate discussion and experience sharing.
Beyond Diversity project is based on the results obtained from the previous Minerva Project - POCODIMA, developed from 2003 to 2005, financed by the European Commission and supported by the Italian National Agency.
The general purpose of the previous project was to provide beneficiaries with efficient instruments dedicated to the constructive management of conflicts and differences by technologies and teaching planning. Within the framework of the project, CD's which contains training modules was elaborated.
Training modules were created by use of the so-called MUST method which made possible to create a training course by dynamically integrating two levels: a tutorial system (educational contents) and simulation setting (various situations and fictional scenarios within which the user has to answer a series of questions).
Above-mentioned project and tool created within its framework were chosen as the basis of our application because of its innovative character. This project has provided an efficient instrument dedicated to the constructive management of conflicts and differences by technologies ICT. In our new project we would like to use that tool, but also to adapt it to the specificity of SMEs sector and ways of solving conflicts created on the basis of different cultural backgrounds diagnosed by managers and employees of those firms.
Within the framework of that project we would like also to elaborate training program for the constructive management of conflicts created on the basis of different cultural backgrounds which will use elaborated tool. There will be also created E-learning Platform to let beneficiaries know the tool and the training and to be a base of knowledge and experience exchange.
